Amphora Launches Starter Pack Subscription of PatentSafe
Amphora Research Systems (http://www.amphora-research.com), a key provider of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) products for the biotech industry, is launching its new Starter Pack Subscription to the PatentSafe software which allows small biotechs in the start-up phase to use the market-leading ELN at a price they can afford.
The Starter Pack Subscription of PatentSafe is specifically aimed at biotechs with up to 10 scientists – i.e. companies that have the same problems as larger life sciences establishments but often lack the money or infrastructure to deploy an ELN package.
Simon Coles, CTO and co-founder of Amphora, explains: “Until now, the small biotechs have been forced to make do with a bound paper notebook, which is tremendously inefficient and causes them real problems as they grow or wish to sell their intellectual property (IP).”
He adds: “The introduction of the PatentSafe Starter Pack allows these smaller biotech companies to use a class of product that was previously unavailable to them. Therefore, their scientists will be more productive and it will be easier for the company to sell or license their IP.”
Thanks to PatentSafe, scientists can work remotely as virtual teams across different facilities or institutions, while collaborating easily on their projects. Scientists no longer have to ‘cut and stick’ computer printouts into their traditional bound laboratory notebook, saving typically between 15 minutes to an hour per day. Furthermore, the entire PatentSafe notebook can be searched and shared with colleagues and all work is fully protected for patent and IP purposes. PatentSafe is quick to learn and affordable to deploy, and can be used in conjunction with traditional paper-based methods.
PatentSafe can be used as a stand alone software product or with other discipline-specific ELN products from other vendors, which may lack sufficient IP protection.
